About This Product

This is a cassette tape pressing of Alvvays by Alvvays. The band, consisting of Molly Rankin, Kerri MacLellan, Alec O'Hanley, Brian Murphy, and Philip MacIsaac, draws influence from their roots in Cape Breton and Prince Edward Island, blending folk, jangle-pop, and melancholic rock. Their self-titled debut album features nine tracks that balance sunlit optimism with twilit sadness, creating a sound that captures both the beauty and heartbreak of life. Recorded at Chad VanGaalen's Yoko Eno studio and mixed by Graham Walsh and John Agnello, the album sparkles with a shimmering, wistful quality, driven by needlepoint melodies and introspective lyrics.
