About This Product

The American Original Series guitars from Fender capture the classic vibe of their legendary guitars of bygone decades, with modern features, components, build technology, and feel. Leo Fender's Telecaster was the world's first production model solidbody electric guitar. It brought the guitar to the front as a mainstream instrument, with players praising it for its affordable price, trendsetting looks and reliability. Armed with the Telecaster, artists like Jimmy Page and Keith Richards went on to shape the very history of rock 'n' roll.

As the world changed in the 1960s, the Telecaster went through some subtle changes with it, most notably in the form of the 1964 Telecaster Custom. It is this model on which the Fender American Original '60s Telecaster is based. It was mellowed out with the addition of a smooth rosewood fretboard and the eye catching look of front and back body binding. The classic 1960's C shaped neck profile combined with a modern 9.5" radiused fretboard with vintage style tall frets allow for lead soloing you'd find much harder on an original '64. The Pure Vintage '64 pickups have been painstakingly recreated to produce that authentic woody Tele twang, from the fibre bobbins and Alnico V magnets right down to the enamel-coated coil wire and cloth-covered output wires. For a modern Tele with a classic visual vibe, you won't find better than the Fender American Original '60s Telecaster.
