Produced by Martin Hannett and Joy Divison, the song was originally recorded at Strawberry Studios in Stockport, England. Love Will tear Us Apart was certified double platinum in the UK, selling and streaming over 1,200,000 units, and has an ongoing legacy as a defining song of the era.
